It’s located in a small shop of the Bualuard Street number 38, right in the middle of the heart of the Barceloneta. You will find the Buluard Bakery, the most legendary bakery in this neighbourhood and one of the best ones in the Barcelona.

Anna Bellsollà opened the doors of this place in 2007 but she has carried the baker tradition in her genes for a longer time. Back in 1892, her great grandfather, Pere Bellsolà, founded the Bellsolà Bakery at the Plaça del Gra de Girona, kneading his own cultivated wheat. Years later, this bakery was left in his kids´ hands, making it become one of the most popular establishments in Girona.

Nowadays, at the Baluard Bakery you will find 100% artisanal bread that has been prepared with first quality ingredients and baked in a wood oven of almost 3m diameter. Its texture, smell, flavours and the variety of its bread elaborated with pure flours, natural yeast and long hours of fermentation, makes it become a delicacy for the senses.

Apart from the bread, it has a wide selection of cakes and pastries. Hence, if you are taking a walk around the area, this is a stop that shall not be missed to enjoy an amazing snack.

In the following video, you will see the artisanal process of the elaboration of Buluard´s bread. And as Anna says: “Cut it, smell it, put it in your mouth and let your senses do the rest of the work.”
