The football club, which has a long history behind its back, was born in 1930, although it was not until after the Spanish Civil War when it truly began its activity. During those years, other clubs were founded likethe Sant Carlos and the Atlàntic Martítim, generating a great rivalry in the Barceloneta over more than two decades. Finally, the teams decided to merge under the name of Club de Futbol Barceloneta.
It was in 1992 when the City Hall decided to build its “second house”, the Parc de la Catalana, where they currently play. There have been many victories and defeats that have marked the history of the club, however, this past year, it has managed to go back to Tercera Catalana, all thanks to the football team with which they countmostly by people from the neighbourhood.
One of the most emblematic areas of the city of Barcelona is being affected. There are less businesses decide to remain at La Barceloneta. Therefore, to make this a better neighbourhood, the AFMB has decided to show its support and collaborate with CF Barceloneta, to eliminate the problem by supporting the activities of the area, promoting local development and contributing to make the neighbourhood more familiar.
With these actions, the Associació Front Marítim Barceloneta, a non-profit organization that represents the group of companies that love and are committed with the future of La Barceloneta, is becoming more and more close to achieving its mission: To turn the neighbourhood into an excellent area.
